API Tools

What are API tools?

API tools (or “application programming interface tools”) are used by developers to transform how they write applications. There are multiple variations of APIs, including regular APIs, public APIs, web APIs, and more.

The hidden costs of API requests

An API is a set of functions that allows applications to access data while interacting with external software components, operating services, and so on. In regards to cloud storage, APIs coordinate the exchange of data between system infrastructures.

Unfortunately, many of the top cloud storage providers such as Amazon S3 and comparable services from Google Cloud Platform and Microsoft Azure charge their customers whenever they make API requests. But unlike Amazon S3, Google Cloud, and Microsoft Azure, Wasabi doesn’t tack on additional charges for your API requests, giving you free rein to access your data whenever you need it. However, Wasabi’s object storage platform is designed to be 100% compatible with AWS S3 and AWS IAM APIs, meaning that any existing AWS S3-compatible application or gateway device will work seamlessly with Wasabi.
