Ingress Fees
What Are Ingress Fees?
Ingress fees are charges applied by cloud storage providers when you upload data into their platform. Every gigabyte you move into storage can come with a cost, and those costs add up fast.
How do ingress fees work?
When you transfer data into a cloud storage environment, some providers meter that inbound traffic and bill you for it. The more data you move, the more you pay, before you've even stored a single file.
Ingress vs. egress fees
Egress fees are charges incurred when you move your data out of a hyperscale cloud, whereas ingress fees are when you move your data into a hyperscale cloud. The cost varies by provider and region, but a common rate is $0.09 per gigabyte, which may seem small until you scale up.
Wasabi's approach to ingress fees
Wasabi doesn't charge ingress or egress fees. You can upload as much data as you need without worrying about surprise costs at the end of the month. Your storage bill stays predictable, and you stay in control.
